At the end of every month, I enjoy going to the bookstore.
I go to pick up the next month’s “입트영” and “귀트영” books.
But while I am there, I also like to browse around to see what’s new, what’s on the bestseller list, and what books are getting attention in each section.

When we were students, there was a sense of happiness in buying a book at the store and placing it on the bookshelf at home.
But these days, many people prefer e-books because paper books take up a lot of space.
And with so many people buying books online now, it’s sad to see more and more bookstores disappearing.

My favorite bookstore is right in the heart of Busan, and it has been around for over 50 years.
I find it comforting that it’s still there, and still going strong.

매달 말이 되면 저는 서점에 가는 즐거움이 있습니다.
다음 달 <입트영>, <귀트영> 책을 사러 간 김에 요즘 어떤 책이 새로 나왔는지, 또 베스트셀러는 무엇인지, 그리고  분야별 화제의 책은 무엇인지 살펴보는 것을 좋아합니다.

우리가 학교 다닐 때는 서점에 가서 책을 구입해서 집 책꽂이에 꽂아 두는 행복감이 있었지요.
그렇지만 요즘은 종이책이 차지하는 공간이 많아지다 보니, 전자책을 선호하는 사람들이 많아졌습니다.
그리고 이제는 책을 인터넷으로 구입하는 사람들이 많아지다 보니, 서점이 점점 줄어든 게 많이 아쉽습니다.

다행히 제가 좋아하는 단골 서점은 부산의 중심가에서 50년이 넘는 역사를 자랑합니다.
그곳에 여전히 건재하고 있어서 마음이 든든합니다.
